Moodle Assessment Advisory

Please see the documentation/advisory that has been provided to students.

The following are some recommendations for Moodle Assessments (click each section to expand it):

Be sure to advise students well ahead of time for scheduled Moodle Assessments so that are prepared both academically and in terms of availing themselves with the requirements in terms of resources.

Timing - Ensure that the “When time expires” settings is as per your desire. We recommend “Open attempts are submitted automatically”. Also ensure that your settings for opening and closing the quiz are as needed and you check the “Enable” box to ensure that timing is used.
Grade - Ensure that “Attempt allowed” is set as per your desire. If more than one attempt is allowed, ensure that the grading method is set so that Moodle knows which grade should be used.
Turnitin Plagiarism may be set to “No” for quizzes.

Set Turnitin Plagiarism to “Yes” if needed for assigments. Also ensure that the Standard repository is used for the storing of students papers. If unsure you can seek guidance for the other settings.
Ensure that the “Availability” are as needed. Be reminded that the “Enable” checkbox activates the use of the settings you have configured as illustrated below.
