It is recommended to use a laptop or desktop computer as opposed to a mobile device such as a cellphone, preferably a device where the student has had a previous positive experience when accessing tests, quizzes or any other assessments via UG Moodle. This is recommended due to the length of some exam questions and required responses. For the best experience, a larger screen and area for typing is often needed.
Avoid using multiple devices during an assessment. Do not switch devices during an assessment. This can result in a Moodle error of inconsistency causing some or all of your responses not to be saved.
Avoid logging out of and logging in to Moodle in the middle of assessment. Often times an assessment is set to submit your responses as is when time expires for the assessment. Hence you do not want a scenario where you have incomplete answers and you attempt to restart the login session. Also be reminded that assessments often only allow one attempt. Please note that temporary loss of an internet connection does not usually cause any issue in your assessment attempt.
Do not use multi-tab browsing (attempting to open links on a web page on different browser tabs). Avoid attempting to answer multiple questions in multiple browsers or tabs of the same browser. Remember Moodle maintains a session in your browser window of your responses and as a student you should try to remove any chances for the overlapping of answer sessions in order to allow for your answers to be accepted in full.
Do not use back / forward etc. buttons on the browser while doing the assessment. Use the navigation links / buttons provided by Moodle. The navigation for the questions is usually located in the top right hand corner and indicates the questions you have answered or are still to answer.
Ensure that you log into Moodle prior to your exam to ensure that you can access the website later when your exams are scheduled to begin.
Please be advised that if you are not able to access moodle at the time of exams, use the “Forgot Password” option. See the documentation here:Moodle - Student Login
If you are logging into Moodle for the first time in this academic year 2023/2024 and you are not able to login then kindly ensure you have a submitted registration in SRMS then proceed to attempt logging in again.
